Making your own baby food is so simple. It's sad that we live in a world so based on convenience that many people just buy baby food because the Gerber people tell you to. I fell into this trap with my 1st son and bought baby food. I thought that making your own food was too time consuming and to hard to do. Organic baby food can cost up to $0.77 a jar. When your older baby eats 6 2 oz jars a day that's close to 5 Dollars a day on baby food. I make my own baby food to save money, and I know exactly whats in my son's food. I have made all kinds of baby food purees. The picture above is Carrots and Cauliflower. I use a metal steamer basket underneath steam it with about a cup of water until mushy. Then I blend the mixture in the Blender until its a good texture. I store my food in Baby Cubes that I bought at Babies R Us. These cubes are great . They are B.P.A Free, reusable and dishwasher safe. The prepared food lasts in the freezer for up to 8 weeks, but we eat it much faster than that. All you have to do is thaw it out, warm it up and serve. The Carrots cost me $ 2.00 , and the Cauliflower was $ 1.80 So for a grand total of $3.80 I made a total of 20 2oz containers. That comes out to about $0.19 a jar. You cannot beat the savings, and Its really so Simple to do.

Make your Own Baby Apple Puree
Baby food is so simple to make and way more cost efficient then buying the packaged stuff. the prepared baby food is filled with tons of preservatives that make it have a long shelf life. Now don't get me wrong I used jar baby food with my 1st son monkey boy and he turned out OK (crazy but OK). But this time around I realized that its so simple to make your own. You live and you learn. What you will need is about 12 small apples Organic is best , but since you are peeling them regular ones are fine too. Peel and chop all the apples Put into a big pot with a steamer basket on the bottom add 1 cup of water and steam until soft about 35 min on my stove on med high heat. Next add all the apples into the blender I added 6 0z of fresh Breast Milk (I added fresh not frozen stored up milk because you don't want to refreeze thawed milk) then Puree until the right consistency. Next I stored all the baby food in Baby Cubes that are BPA Free. Put in your freezer for up to 8 weeks. When ready to use just heat one up in the microwave and serve.

Make Your Own Baby Banana Puree
It's really easy to make your own baby food . Fuss N Stuff is 5 months old and
we are starting solids. Our Pediatrician told us that we should start with fruits instead of the usual rice cereal because Lil Worm gets real constipated with the rice cereal. With my first son I thought about making my own baby food, but that's where it ended...just a thought. This time around I decided to give it a try. I couldn't believe how easy it was. All you will need is 1 Banana, A Bowl, A spoon, and either 1 oz of Breast Milk or Formula, and a Blender. Just peel your banana m
ash it with the spoon (it will be the perfect consistancy for like a stage 4 baby food) But because Fuss N Stuff is 5 months I blended it in the blender. It Smells so Good and tastes so fresh. Then I added 1 oz of breast milk. ( I tasted it before this step ) Blend until smooth . And Lil Worm loved it!
You can store it in the fridge for the day but bananas don't do well in the freezer because they will turn brown so its not recommended.
