Bum Genius....Really Is Genius!

When I was pregnant with my 2ND child a dear friend of mine cloth diapered her baby. I at first thought she was nuts. Having used disposables with my 1st son (Hello its 2009 not 1930). I Thought Cloth Diapers were burp cloth looking things with pins and plastic pants. Boy was I wrong! When I saw how cute and comfortable they were on her baby I was intrigued. I had so many questions and concerns.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN THEM?

DO YOU HAVE TO TOUCH POO?

DO YOU BOIL THEM ON THE STOVE ?

DO YOU USE A DIAPER SERVICE ?

DO YOU HAVE TO WASH DIAPERS EVERY DAY ?

IS IT TOO TIME CONSUMING ?

HOW MANY WILL I NEED ?

WHERE DO YOU BUY THEM ?

ARE THEY REALLY ABSORBENT ?

WILL MY BABY GET RASHES MORE OFTEN ?

DO THEY LEEK ALL OVER THE PLACE ?

Well I now know all the answers to my questions and am now OBSESSED WITH CLOTH DIAPERING

My girlfriend gave me 3 Bum Genius as a welcome gift for Lil Worm. Little did I know that he was born at 36 weeks and at his lowest weight was 5 lbs 14 oz so Bum Genius wouldn't fit till 7 lbs. So overwhelmed with my premature birth I used the disposables that the hospital gave me. And continued to purchase them . One day when I was standing in line at Babies R Us with a giant expensive box of disposable diapers getting ready to fork close to 40 bucks for what will only last about 3 weeks. I remembered the Bum Genius Diapers my friend bought Lil Worm.

I did buy that big box of diapers, but went home and ordered 3 more Bum genius diapers online. As well as what is called diaper liners to catch poop and help keep your diapers stain free.

I knew that I needed at lest 6 diapers to give it a good try. When My new diapers came in the mail I was excited. I washed all of them according to directions, and when they were ready I put one on Lil worm. He Looked so cute in his comfy diaper. I was hooked just seeing how happy he was and how adorable they were on him. But now for the test...will they work? Can I deal with the poop? I was super surprised at how awesome they are. Then it happened. He pooped in that beautiful diaper. It was breast feed poop and that use to explode out of disposables but not with the Bum Genius! It contained all the mess. I changed him and flushed the liner in the toilet. It dissolves in the water and caught most of the poop then just washed the diaper. It came out of the wash looking like new. Yep, I was hooked. I remember telling my husband that I cloth diapered our son all day. He replied "daddy dosen't do cloth diapers" I told him the statics that on average it cost over $3,000 to disposable diaper 1 baby till the age of 2 . Well I don't know about you but my 1st son wast potty trained till 3 so we spent maybe close to $4,000 on Diapers. That's Nuts! Plus...not to mention all the dirty diapers poluting our earth. The one we are bringing these children and hopefully grandchildren into. HELLO...ANYONE SEE WALL-E?? So that night I showed him how easy they were and how to use the liners and he was on board too. Well I have many different cloth diapers in my stash right now and with so many different brands out there and cute colors and designs its addicting. And I dont know about you but I would much rather spend 40 bucks a month on cute Gymboree clothes than diapers that you just throw away !

Make Your Own Baby Banana Puree

It's really easy to make your own baby food . Fuss N Stuff is 5 months old and we are starting solids. Our Pediatrician told us that we should start with fruits instead of the usual rice cereal because Lil Worm gets real constipated with the rice cereal. With my first son I thought about making my own baby food, but that's where it ended...just a thought. This time around I decided to give it a try. I couldn't believe how easy it was. All you will need is 1 Banana, A Bowl, A spoon, and either 1 oz of Breast Milk or Formula, and a Blender. Just peel your banana mash it with the spoon (it will be the perfect consistancy for like a stage 4 baby food) But because Fuss N Stuff is 5 months I blended it in the blender. It Smells so Good and tastes so fresh. Then I added 1 oz of breast milk. ( I tasted it before this step ) Blend until smooth . And Lil Worm loved it!
You can store it in the fridge for the day but bananas don't do well in the freezer because they will turn brown so its not recommended.
